PSY202 final project
my final project for PSY202, exploring the "conceptualized self" and related psych concepts.
this webpage was my final projects for my PSY202 class. i definitely got carried away, but i'm passionate about psychology, especially the concept of the self and our different relations we can have with the "self".
this website has two main parts: a lesson on the topic, and an interactive "johari" window.
writing and designing the lesson was an exercise in, of course, writing, and graphic design. at the time of writing this, it has been nearly two years since i've built the site: i remember setting design rules for myself and playing with how best to present a linear page of information so that it could be viewed on desktop and mobile browsers alike. i feel that i did a fair job in keeping it from simply being a wall of text, while still remaining organized and not overwhelming the reader with content.
coding the johari window was one of my early exercises in working with a database. it's a very small and simple key-storage based database, which i won't go into detail beyond it being a cloudflare service -- however, i believe this is the first project i deployed that used a database. nervewracking! but it worked out nicely, in my opinion.
to give credit where credit is due: i was hugely inspired by this fantastic johari window on kevan.org.
